Congo. Launch of the "Projet d'Appui à la Relance du Secteur Agricole" (PARSA) accompanied by TEREA.

The Projet d'Appui à la Relance du Secteur Agricole (PARSA) was launched on November 18 under the patronage of the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (MAEP), Mr. Paul-Valentin Ngobo and the Ambassador of France in the Republic of Congo, Mr. François Barateau.

Implemented by the MAEP with the support of a technical assistance consortium composed of TEREA, World Agroforestry and CIRAD, PARSA aims to support the development of peri-urban market gardening in Brazzaville, with a particular emphasis on the promotion of agro-ecology within this sector, and to support and supervise the revival of the cocoa sector in the northern departments through the promotion of agroforestry techniques and more generally according to the principles of socially and environmentally responsible agriculture.

The project is financed by AFD - Agence Française de Développement - and is part of the second Debt Reduction and Development Contract (C2D) signed between the Republic of Congo and the French Republic.
